Payment Voucher- We prepare payment voucher, when we purchase goods or service so against the service and the goods we pay the amount to the particular person or the company.

  

Here is the example of payment voucher entry.

Example- Mr Manish purchase Furniture for office use from Kapoor & Sons for Rs. 10000/-

So the journal entry will be like this.

Furniture A/c………………… Dr.	10000
To Kapoor & Sons………………..Cr.		10000

Payment Entry:-

Kapoor & Sons A/c……......Dr.	10000
To Bank………………………..Cr.		10000

The Journal and the Payment entry can be understand like this

Party debit in journal Voucher & Credit in payment voucher

Payment Voucher in Tally- Here is the example of payment voucher entry in tally.

Example- Abc & comp. Purchase goods from Shyami Ltd. For Rs. 7250/-.

Payment Voucher is use For the payment of the any Party. Shortcut Key of Payment voucher F5  in tally.

Note:- Before The payment of any party first of all we do entry in Journal Voucher then the payment.

So Firstly we create a ledger and then Book a journal voucher.

Go to Gateway of Tally > Account info > Ledger > Create > Purchase > under (purchase Account)

Click Enter and finally click on Yes or enter

Then Creat a ledger of Shyami Under (Sundry creditors)

Sundry Creditors Because we Purchase Goods From Shyami so he will be creditors for us. It a liability for our company.

Go To Gateway of Tally> Accounting Voucher > F7( Journal Voucher)

Before any payment firstly we book a journal voucher. Then we paid to the particular company.

 Click on Yes

Go To Gateway of Tally> Accounting Voucher > F5( Payment Voucher)

Create a Bank ledger under Bank Account and fill all the details.

In The above example we debit furniture and in this example we debit Purchase, we did this because in the above example we mention the goods name (Furniture) and in another example we didn’t mention any Goods and Service name so we Debit the Purchase.
